OHCO is pleased to announce our keynote speaker this year, Dr. Hannah Maxey, Assistant Professor and Director of Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research & Policy at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Maxey currently serves as an expert consultant to the National Governor’s Association and National Association of Community Health Centers on health workforce policy and related issues. Dr. Maxey’s recent work examines the effect of state regulation of the dental hygiene workforce in underserved communities, with a focus on assessing workforce models supporting the integration of oral health with primary care.

Dr. Maxey’s address will challenge attendees thinking and charge them with changing the dialogue on oral health, and recognizing the shared responsibility all types of health professionals have in patient and population oral health. Integration of oral health and primary/medical care represents a movement towards changing the current culture. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how they can become advocates for oral health and integration within their respective communities and organizations.
